Simultaneous Interpreting

The use of simultaneous interpretation is not limited to conference interpreting.  Whether you are an educational, healthcare, court, or community interpreter, there will be a time when you will be called upon to interpret simultaneously.  In this module, interpreters will learn both the similarities and differences between simultaneous and consecutive interpreting and the characteristics required to be a good simultaneous interpreter.  Students will learn the important skills for this mode of interpretation, the equipment required, and exercises that can be used to develop memory, speed and accuracy.
