Interpreting in Educational Settings

Interpreters in Educational settings are part of the educational team and are responsible for helping communication between LEP students and parents and the educational institution. This helps ensure parent involvement which is important to the success of the student. Interpreters may be called upon to interpret as part of the IEP team, in 504 meetings, early childhood assessments, and parent teacher conferences. This course is intended to give familiarity of each of these settings and provide the interpreter with knowledge of the processes and proper terminology used in these educational settings.
