Ethics and Standards of Practice

Medical Interpreters are often faced with ethical dilemmas.  The National Council on Interpreting in Healthcare and the International Medical Interpreters Association have established a set of standards and ethical obligations for professional medical interpreters to follow.  In this module we will discuss the importance of these ethics and standards.  We will also look at what defines a competent medical interpreter and the etiquette required in the profession.
