Community Interpreting
Community Interpreting

Community interpreting encompasses many areas within health care, education, and human and social services. Interpreters are often assigned to work with case managers, medical providers, and other agencies to bridge any cultural and communication gaps. Federal civil rights legislation, national interpreting ethics and standards, hospital accreditation agencies and many state and municipal laws endorse or promote the use of qualified or certified interpreters. This course covers the many settings interpreters may be called upon for their services.
