Body Planes and Anatomical Directions

In anatomy and physiology, the anatomical body planes and sections are used to understand the various ways in which the body can be viewed when cut into sections.  They are important when analyzing images produced by an MRI or other types of imaging equipment.  Body planes can be thought of as a map of the body.  In this module students will become familiar with how the body is broken up into planes and sections.
